TIL frozen fries vs fresh potatoes in the air fryer is a real choice

I had a bag of frozen crinkle cuts and some russets, and I chose to cut the fresh ones. Tossed them in a little oil and my usual seasoning mix, then air fried at 400 for about 18 minutes, shaking halfway. They came out way crispier than the frozen ones ever do, and my kid said they were 'the good kind.' Anyone have a favorite potato type for air fryer fries?
