Realized after 8 months that I was crowding my air fryer basket every single time

My sister watched me dump a full bag of frozen fries in and said 'you know those are just steaming, right', and now I do half batches from the same 2 pound bag and the crisp difference is insane, has anyone else had that forehead slap moment with batch size?

Took me six months to figure that out too, same exact moment with my sister watching me. Half batches changed everything, not even close to the same result. The basket was always packed tight and the hot air just couldn't move around anything. Now I do smaller rounds and let the first batch sit on paper towels while the second cooks. Crowding is basically a whole different cooking method, steamed mush instead of crispy. Your mileage may vary but I will never go back to stuffing it full again.
