Overheard my neighbor say he never preheats his air fryer and now I'm second-guessing 4 years of prep time
He said he just tosses frozen chicken wings in cold and they come out perfect in 22 minutes, so who else skips the preheat and what's your go-to time hack?

Same. I preheated for like a year before I accidentally hit the wrong button one time and just threw stuff in cold. Honestly for most frozen stuff it doesn't matter. Frozen fries come out crunchier if you skip the preheat because they spend more time thawing before they start browning. The only thing I still bother preheating for is fresh dough stuff like biscuits or those canned croissants. If you don't give them that initial blast of heat they end up more like dense breadsticks than flaky layers.

Bet my air fryer's thermostat is off by like 30 degrees anyway, so preheating is a total crapshoot lol.
