My air fryer manual said to preheat for 3 minutes, but I tried skipping it and the food was a total mess
I was in a rush last Tuesday and just threw some frozen fries in my Ninja without the preheat cycle. They came out soggy and uneven, which never happens when I wait. I looked it up on the appliance's website and found a note that says preheating is key for frozen items because it starts the cooking process right away. I guess that little bit of time makes a big difference for the texture. Has anyone else found a trick that seems small but actually changes the whole result?

Remember reading that you should always pat meat dry before searing it. I shrugged it off for years, thinking my pan was hot enough anyway. Tried it on some chicken thighs last month and the difference was insane. Got a real crust for the first time instead of that pale, steamy look. That tiny paper towel step felt so pointless but it fixed everything.
