My air fryer manual said 6 quart, but the basket was actually 5.2

I measured it last week with a liquid measuring cup because my frozen fries kept coming out soggy. The box says 6 quart but the actual basket only holds 5.2 quarts when filled to the fill line. I found a forum post from a guy in Ohio who did the same measurement on his unit and got 5.1. So all my recipes that call for a full 6 quart basket were overloading it by about 15 percent. That explains why my chicken wings cooked unevenly for the last 3 months. Has anyone else measured their basket and found the real capacity was less than what the label says?

Well, that is frustrating! I measured mine too and got 5.3 quarts. These companies always round up on the box. So your soggy fries make total sense now. Overloading by 15 percent is a big deal for air flow. I would just treat the 6 quart mark as a hoax and use 5 quarts for everything. Might save you a few batches of sad wings.
