I've been using way too much oil for air fryer fries

I saw a video from a cooking channel in Portland where they just tossed the potatoes in a single teaspoon of oil. I tried it last night and the fries were crispier than ever, not soggy like mine always were. Anyone have other tricks for cutting back on oil without losing texture?

My old rice cooker manual said to use a full cup of water per cup of rice. Honestly, I use half that now and it's perfect. So many instructions just tell you to use way more than you actually need.

Yeah, I read that rice type changes the water ratio a lot.

The Portland channel you mentioned - was it Portlandia Prep or someone else? I watched a similar one where they parboiled the fries first with a tiny bit of vinegar and it changed everything for me.
