I used to think preheating the air fryer was a waste of time...
My neighbor Mike kept telling me to preheat for 5 minutes before putting food in. I ignored him for like 6 months because I figured it gets hot fast anyway. Finally tried it last Sunday with some frozen chicken strips and the difference was huge. They came out actually crispy instead of just kinda warm and sad. Who knew 5 minutes would change the texture that much. Anyone else stubborn about skipping steps in the manual?

Preheating makes a difference for sure but I am that guy who skips it half the time depending on what I'm cooking. For something like frozen fries or chicken nuggets I just toss them in cold and add an extra minute or two and they come out fine. But for stuff like battered fish or fresh breaded items, yeah that 5 minute warm up matters a lot. It's not a hard rule for me, more of a case by case thing.

Ha, so you're living on the edge with half-baked air fryer choices.

People act like shortcuts ruin everything but half the time it's just trial and error getting the same result. That whole "never skip steps" mindset leaks into way too many parts of life when really you just figure out what matters for each thing as you go.
