TIL that AI translation still can't handle my grandma's Polish sayings
Last month I tried using three different AI translators for a family recipe my grandma dictated. Every one of them butchered "Nie mój cyrk, nie moje małpy." One version said "not my circus, not my monkeys," which is right. But the other two gave gibberish about monkeys and a carousel. I get that idioms are hard for machines, but a 2024 model should nail that one. Has anyone else hit a wall with AI and old family phrases?
