Navigating Tokyo with just my phone's AI camera translator

Last month, I spent a week in Tokyo without knowing any Japanese. My phone's camera translator app became my best tool. It uses AI to scan and translate text from signs and menus right away. I held it up to a complex train map and got clear directions in English. Ordering at a small noodle shop was easy when the app read the menu for me. This tech changed how I explored the city, making me feel less lost. It's a small innovation, but it shows how AI can help in everyday travel. More people should know about these simple, useful tools.

I tried to order from a picture menu without help and got a dish with whole tiny fish staring back at me. I mean, it was probably a local specialty, but my brain just short-circuited. @gavin816 having that app in Seoul sounds way smarter than my guesswork method. Now I don't even try to read a vending machine without my phone's camera ready.

Been there, picture menus are a trap. Phone camera is the only safe bet.
