Got an AI art generator to make custom logos for my Etsy shop and it was a wild ride
I spent last weekend feeding an AI tool like Midjourney some prompts for a logo for my vintage tees shop, and the first 10 results were total nonsense with weird text and random shapes. Then I added "minimalist" and "no text" to the prompt, and it gave me a perfect cat silhouette in like 2 minutes flat. Has anyone else had the AI just completely miss the mark on details before you tweak the wording?

And then the AI gave me a cat with three ears. Not two, not four. Three. Looked like some mutant alien cat from a bad sci-fi movie. I typed "symmetrical cat" and it made the cat's face all lopsided on purpose. Seemed like the AI just heard "cat" and decided to get creative with the anatomy. Took me like 20 tries to get a normal looking one.

I used to roll my eyes at people who said AI couldn't handle simple stuff like a cat face. Figured they just didn't know how to type prompts right. Then I tried making a logo for my own shop and realized it's way more unpredictable than I thought. @sageellis that mutant cat thing is exactly what I ran into, like the AI decided ears were optional. It took me hours of trial and error before I got a design that didn't look like a fever dream. Now I get why folks get frustrated with it, you really have to babysit the prompt to get anything useful out.
