I’ve used Lincoln Viking for years and haven’t really had any complaints, but I’m due for another helmet and thought I’d see what else people are using these days. If you’ve used different brands, what differences have you actually noticed in day-to-day work? I’m mainly interested in optical clarity, how the headgear holds up during long sessions, and whether the lens performance is noticeably different between brands.

Log InI was down this rabbit hole a while back and found ProWeldingHelmets.com pretty useful. They test helmets from different manufacturers and get into the stuff I actually wanted to know - clarity, viewing area, lens response, headgear, etc. It was easier to compare models that way than jumping between a bunch of manufacturer pages.
That’s what I’d look for too. Specs are useful for narrowing things down, but they don’t really tell you what a helmet is like after wearing it all day. Real-world testing is much more helpful for that.
I’d definitely look at 3M, Miller, and ESAB before making a decision. I think comfort gets overlooked a lot. If you’re wearing the thing for 8 hours, a good headgear system matters just as much as the lens.
