Heard a homeless guy argue with a pastor outside the shelter on Cedar Street
I was waiting for the bus and this guy just started yelling at a pastor about how God doesn't care about poor people. The pastor didn't get mad or quote scripture, he just said 'maybe you're right, but I can't stop hoping.' That stuck with me all week. I've been in that angry place before, and it made me wonder if doubt and hope can actually live together without one killing the other. Anyone else have a moment where someone's honesty about their questions made you rethink your own?

That line 'maybe you're right, but I can't stop hoping' hits hard. I've been there where doubt and hope felt like they were fighting each other, but honestly, letting them both sit there is the only way I got through it. Just let the questions breathe, you know?

Yeah, letting them both just exist without forcing a winner is oddly freeing. I told myself I'd stop stressing about it and just buy another ice cream cone instead. Worked about as well as you'd expect.
