Pro tip: My coffee maker timer was off by 3 hours for 6 months

I swear, I set it for 2 AM so it's ready when I get home at 3 AM... but then I noticed my coffee was tasting weak and stale. Turns out the clock battery died and it reset to noon, so it was brewing at 9 AM while I was asleep and sitting there 18 hours. Anyone else find little glitches like this that mess with your whole night shift routine?

oh man, that is exactly the kind of thing that makes me feel like a complete idiot when I finally figure it out. I once spent a month wondering why my toast kept burning, only to realize I had bumped the timer knob to "bagel" mode instead of "toast." it's always the little things that trip us up, right? I feel your pain on that stale coffee though, 18 hours is basically a science experiment at that point. at least now you know, and your morning brew won't taste like regret anymore.

So @kelly_roberts, how long did it take you to catch the bagel thing? I feel like those little knob settings are designed to mess with us on purpose.
