My coworker microwaved fish three days in a row and now HR is involved

Last Tuesday around noon, Sharon from accounting popped a full salmon fillet into the office microwave. By Thursday, three people had filed complaints and the manager put up a sign banning all seafood. Now we have a mandatory team meeting on Wednesday to discuss 'kitchen etiquette.' Anyone else ever dealt with a coworker who thinks the break room is their personal kitchen?

That Sharon clearly thinks she's the main character of a cooking show instead of just a person trying to heat up leftovers. Honestly the whole office is lucky she didn't pull out a full salmon en croute with a side salad next.

Oh man @carr.blake you hit the nail on the head. We had a lady in my old office who brought in a whole electric griddle once to make pancakes at 9 AM on a Tuesday. Like the whole floor smelled like maple syrup for three hours and she acted so proud of herself while everyone else was just trying to microwave oatmeal without burning it. Sharon probably brings her own chef's knife set to the break room and gets upset when people use the communal butter knife. People like that don't realize the microwave is for quick heating not for staging a whole production. You can almost hear her narrating her steps to herself while she's waiting for the beep.
