Got called out for skipping the morning standup, but here's my take
I used to sit through those 30-minute standups where John rambles about his DevOps tickets for 10 minutes straight. Now I just drop my status in Slack before 9am and go straight to my actual work. Has anyone else found that skipping the bloated meetings actually made your team produce way more?

The quiet ones are the real problem here. They never speak up in standup but then send four direct messages asking what happened after you missed it. Had a teammate who'd just nod along for 20 minutes and then copy my entire Slack update word for word in the channel. Let them sit through John's rambling while the rest of us ship actual features.

oh man that brings back memories of this guy i used to work with who would just stare at his shoes during standup and then send a novel in slack afterwards lol like dude we literally just said all of this out loud. the copy paste thing is so real - had someone take my entire ticket description and put it in a PR with zero changes. like congrats you typed my words i guess? the dm barrage after missing a single standup is the worst part though, makes you wish theyd just speak up when it matters.
