How often do smart home gadgets really make things harder instead of easier... My thermostat had a "learning" mode that just guessed wrong and ran the heat all day. You'd think they'd save money, but sometimes they just add new ways to mess up.

Ugh, this is so true... It's like every 'smart' device just adds another layer of stuff to go wrong. We traded simple knobs for apps that need updates and programs that guess badly. Sometimes the old way was just easier... and cheaper.
