That time a guy tried to pickpocket me on the subway during rush hour in Chicago
I was standing near the doors on the Red Line when I felt a hand slide into my jacket pocket around 5:30 PM. I grabbed his wrist hard and yelled 'what are you doing' loud enough that the whole car turned and he bolted off at the next stop. Has anyone else had to physically stop someone trying to lift their wallet in a crowd?

Gotta disagree with you on this one. Grabbing a pickpocket's wrist and yelling in a packed subway car is exactly the kind of thing that could backfire badly. You don't know if they're carrying a knife or have friends nearby who'll jump in. I've seen people get pulled into fights over less on the CTA. Better to just keep your hand on your wallet and step away, let them move on to someone else.

Ngl I see it differently. If you just let them move on, they'll just try it on the next person - sometimes you gotta make enough noise to shut that down.
