Just realized I'd been using steel wool backwards for 40 years

My buddy Mike watched me scrub a rusted vise with the grain and said 'you know the curly fibers are supposed to dig in, not slide over,' and that one tip made my old Craftsman bench vise look new in 5 minutes instead of 45, has anyone else had their technique flipped by a random comment?

oh man i saw my buddy jake try to pull this at a gas station once. he was all proud grabbing a pack of double stuff and when he opened em later every single one had just the normal amount of filling. he was so mad he called the company and everything. turns out the factory had a mixup on his batch or something. still brings it up anytime oreos get mentioned like its some kind of personal betrayal lol.
