Thought the Dumpster Match at Final Battle 2022 was gonna be trash, but after rewatching it cold I actually get why they booked it that way

I skipped it live because I hate gimmick matches, but a buddy made me sit through it last week and the storytelling with PCO's no-sell during the table spot totally changed why I think garbage wrestling can work when everyone commits to the bit.

wait wait wait, PCO NO SOLD the table spot?! I know he's a zombie gimmick but I thought that was just a prop, like a custom or whatever. So he literally just stood there after getting thrown through a table like it was nothing and kept fighting? That's either the dumbest thing ever or the most committed storytelling I've ever heard of in a dumpster match. I gotta see this now just to wrap my head around it.

@the_faith nailed it, it's like when people double down on a bad joke in real life and somehow make it work.

You ever have one of those moments where you're telling a story and you realize halfway through nobody's buying it so you just lean in harder? lol I did that once at a family gathering trying to explain why I showed up late to Thanksgiving. Said my car broke down, then my buddy's truck broke down, then I saw a raccoon on the highway and had to stop for it. By the third lie I was already committed so I just started acting like the raccoon was a omen or something. My aunt still brings it up and calls me "Raccoon Charlie" sometimes. That table spot sounds like the same energy, man committed to the bit so hard it circles back around to being art.
