Showerthought: Remember when sketchbook tours meant physically handing your book to a friend?
I was thinking about how I used to show my drawings to friends in school by letting them flip through my sketchbook. Now, with online sketchbook tours, it's all about filming pages and sharing them on platforms, which feels different. Does anyone else miss the tactile feel of a real sketchbook exchange?

Absolutely, passing around a real sketchbook was a whole vibe. I miss the sound of the pages flipping and the little pencil smudges you'd see up close. Showing my book to a friend after school felt way more personal than just posting a video online.

Wait, the smudges could transfer to their hands too.

Remember how the graphite would actually rub off on your fingers? That was proof you were holding something REAL. I loved seeing the faint gray marks on the paper where someone had leaned on it. It made the art feel alive, like you could touch the work. Now with digital stuff, it's all clean and perfect, but it loses that human touch. Those smudges told a story of how the drawing was made.
