Honestly, my kid's first sketchbook tour with me was a moment I'll never forget.

Hold onto those sketchbooks like gold. Pictures on a phone just don't have the same SOUL. You can feel the pencil marks and see the mistakes, and that's what makes it REAL. My dad kept all my old drawings, and now they're the best thing I own. Digital stuff gets lost or forgotten, but a sketchbook sits on a shelf and tells a story. That first tour is a memory you can actually touch years later.

My niece is six and her drawings of our dog are taped all over my fridge. It made me realize we hold onto these early creative phases way more than school projects or sports ribbons. There's something about that raw, unedited expression that sticks with you. Do you keep any of the sketchbooks or just take pictures?

Pictures on a phone are easier to keep safe than sketchbooks, @oliver_mason. School awards often show more about a kid's hard work over time.
