Pro tip: don't cheap out on spark plug wires for an older truck

I spent $22 on a no-name set for my '94 F-150 and ended up chasing a random misfire for three weekends. Turned out one wire had almost no resistance straight out of the box. Anyone else get burned by bargain ignition parts?

@emmasmith nailed it with "wild" - $22 for something that's supposed to keep a motor running smooth is basically asking for trouble. I did the same thing with a no-name set on my old Chevy C1500 and one wire had the boot just fall off when I touched it. Three days of swapping sensors before I wised up and just bought Motorcraft ones. Never again with the cheap parts on a daily driver, especially ignition stuff.

$22 for a whole set? That's wild, I can't believe they even put those in a box...
