Found a 1943 steel penny in a parking lot last Tuesday

Picked it up near the Walmart entrance thinking it was a washer, then noticed the date and color, has anyone else stumbled across old coins in random places like that?

Oh man, that's a good find. I found a 1957 dime once just sitting in the change tray of a vending machine at a gas station. It was all beat up and dirty but you could still read the date. I still have it in a little box somewhere.

50 cents face value. That dime's probably worth ten bucks in that condition. Better than finding it in the parking lot.
