Old electrician at the lumber yard told me to stop overbuilding my shed roof trusses
He said I was using 2x6s where 2x4s would do, and showed me the span tables on his phone - saved me 60 bucks and two hours of hauling, so what do you guys use for standard 8x10 roof rafters?

Blew out my knee once carrying 2x6s I definitely didn't need.

Used to think keeping extra lumber around was just good sense. Then I watched my buddy try to haul a heavy stack by himself to save time. That was the day I learned that a few extra dollars for delivery is way cheaper than a doctor visit. Now I buy only what I can manage in one trip unless I can get help. Some lessons just have to be learned the hard way, I guess.
