Tried a $3 can of compressed air on my sticky keyboard keys and it backfired hard

I was getting annoyed with my space bar sticking every few presses, so I grabbed a can of compressed air from the office supply store. I gave it a good blast under the key, but I held the can too upright and it sprayed liquid all over the switch. Now the space bar is even stickier and I gotta pull the keycap off to clean it with rubbing alcohol. Has anyone else ruined a keyboard trying to clean it the quick way?

Three dollars for a can of compressed air is a bargain compared to buying a whole new keyboard over a sticky space bar. You held the can too upright, which is operator error, not a flaw with the product itself. Pulling the keycap off and cleaning it with alcohol is the proper method anyway, so this just forced you to do it right from the start.

Wait, did you actually see someone try to clean their keyboard with the can upside down in real life or just online? A friend of mine did that exact thing last year, soaked his whole desk mat and the can started freezing his fingers. He was so mad he threw the can in the trash and then spent like two hours taking every single keycap off with a spoon. Honestly, the alcohol method is way better anyway, he said his space bar never felt that clean before lol.
