Tried soaking my seized engine cylinders in ATF instead of WD-40, now it turns over by hand

gonna have to disagree with you on this one man. ATF is fine for breaking rust loose but once you get things moving you need real penetrating oil to protect the metal. I had a motorcycle engine seized up tight and the ATF turned it into sludge after sitting a week, made everything worse. You might get lucky this time but I'd flush it with kerosene and put proper oil in before you try starting it.

Totally agree with you. Same thing happened on an old truck motor I had, the ATF gunked up and I had to tear it all apart.
