My neighbor Carl called me out for using too much bondo on the F-150

He watched me slather it on and just said 'you're just making more work for yourself, man.' I was trying to fill a dent that was way too deep, and now I sanded down half of what I put on. You guys ever get called out by someone watching you work and it actually made you stop and think?

Stopped me dead in my tracks the first time someone told me that. I used to think bondo was this magic stuff you could just pile on and sand down to perfection. But after fighting with it for hours and ending up with a wavy mess, I finally GET what they meant. Now I treat bondo like a thin coat of paint, not a filler for craters. Your neighbor did you a HUGE favor, honestly.
