Spent 3 hours hunting down a phantom vibration on my drill press

Turns out the set screw on the pulley was barely a quarter turn loose, took me all afternoon to find it. Has anyone else wasted a ridiculous amount of time on something this simple?

Caught wind of a similar story on a woodworking podcast where a guy spent a whole weekend chasing a wobble in his bandsaw. Turned out it was just a loose grub screw on the lower wheel. Made me feel a little better about the two hours I lost to a blown fuse on my table saw last month. Ever notice how the simplest things always hide the best?

Ever notice how the simplest things always hide the best?" Honestly, no. I don't buy that it's some deep universal truth. It's just annoying when you waste time on something dumb. A loose screw or a blown fuse isn't some profound life lesson, it's a pain in the ass that makes you feel like an idiot. People act like these stories are charming or whatever, but really they just remind me how easy it is to overlook the obvious. I'd rather it just worked the first time.
