My buddy Dave told me to ignore the warranty on my used Honda

He said 'just save the $200 and fix it yourself when it breaks.' 3 months later the transmission started slipping, cost me $1800 to replace. Now every time I see his beat-up truck I want to remind him his advice cost me a month's rent. Anybody else have a friend whose cheap advice backfired?

I get where you're coming from, but honestly Dave helped me dodge a few bad repairs that other shops wanted a fortune for... Guess it depends on the situation.
