I finally figured out why my tomatoes kept splitting before they ripened

Turns out I was watering them every day like a dummy. I talked to a old farmer at the market in Des Moines and he told me to water deeply only twice a week. After 3 weeks of that method, not a single split on my Roma plants. Anyone else made this mistake with their garden?

Yeah I caught that same episode I think, the one with the old guy from Oregon? He had some really solid takes on soil amendments that I hadn't considered before. It's funny how something that sounds so simple on paper can be a total game changer once you actually try it in your own yard. I've been testing out a couple of his suggestions for a few weeks now and so far the results are looking pretty promising, but your mileage may vary depending on what kind of dirt you're working with.
