Had to choose between a gas dryer and electric for my new place

I picked gas because the hookup was there but now my electric bill went down $15 a month and the gas company charges a $20 fee just to have the line active, so did I mess up or what?

dang that's a rough spot to be in for real. those fixed fees from gas companies are such a scam, like you're paying just for the privilege of them existing basically. $15 a month saved on electric is nice but that $20 fee eats it right up. maybe see if you can just shut the gas line off and go full electric if the hookup is still there for it? i've heard of people switching back and forth without too much hassle. sounds like you might've gotten stuck with the worse option by accident.
