5 months of interviews before I caught my biggest mistake

I kept bombing final round interviews for project manager roles and couldn't figure out why. Then a recruiter friend listened to my answers and said I was oversharing about past failures instead of showing how I fixed them. I was basically giving them reasons to say no before they even asked lol. Has anyone else had a moment where a friend pointed out something obvious you were missing the whole time?

OH MY GOD YES this happened to me!! I was doing the same thing with my resume and didn't realize it until a mentor pointed it out. I kept listing all these problems I solved but never said what the actual RESULT was. She told me to just say "I fixed X problem and it saved Y amount or made Z happen" and it was like a light switch flipped. After that I got way more callbacks because people could actually see my value instead of just hearing about issues. It's wild how a tiny change in wording can make or break you in interviews. Now I always tell friends to check if they're telling a story about themselves or just listing stuff.
