Drove 3 hours to that "Ocean View Motel" they advertised and the "view" was a parking lot with a glimpse of the bay through a dumpster.
The website showed a gorgeous balcony shot, but my room faced the back where the only ocean I saw was a puddle in the asphalt. Who else has been burned by fake "scenic" photos in hotel ads?

Never thought street view mattered till i saw that dumpster view.

Man, that's rough. I feel your pain though, that's exactly why I always use Google Maps street view to check the actual entrance and parking lot before I book anything. Seriously, hotel photographers are magicians with their angles and editing, but street view doesn't lie. You can spot the dumpsters, the construction, and the "partial ocean view" that's really just a sliver between two buildings. It's saved me from a few bad weekends myself.
