I chose the farthest spot in the lot over the closest one today
Everyone else was circling for 5 minutes trying to get a spot near the Target entrance. I parked way out by the garden center fence, walked maybe 200 extra feet. Got inside before most of them even found a space. No door dings either. Anyone else just park far on purpose and feel like you beat the system?

The "beat the system" part, yeah that's almost right but you didn't really beat it. You just chose a different trade off. Walking sometimes beats waiting, but on a rainy day or when you're carrying heavy bags, the closer spot wins. @the_kai called it smart though, and I bet they know the feeling of walking past all those circling cars with a little smirk. It's a small victory for sure, but the system still gets you either way, just depends on your mood.
