Why does nobody talk about the difference between a CPR dummy and a real person's chest?

After my first code last week on the night shift, I realized how much softer a real ribcage is compared to those plastic mannequins we practice on, so has anyone else found the training gear gives you completely the wrong feel for the real thing?

Oh man, did your training use the super hard plastic ones too? I remember when I did my first real compressions and was shocked at how much give there actually is. The dummies make it feel like you're trying to crack a turtle shell, but real people are way more squishy and forgiving. It's honestly kind of messed up that we practice on something that feels so wrong.

Yeah same here, that first real chest is way softer than I expected.
