The whole process of renting a movie felt like an event to me.

I used to spend half an hour just walking the aisles at the local rental place. You had to pick based on the box art and the tiny summary on the back. Now, I just scroll through menus for two minutes and pick something. The hunt was part of the fun.

Did you ever get totally sold on a movie just from the box art, then it was a letdown? I read this thing about how rental stores laid out their aisles on purpose to keep you walking around. Like, they'd put the big new releases in the back corner so you passed all the older titles. Those little summaries on the back were so vague you were basically guessing. It really did turn into a whole hunt, like your own little mission. Now with streaming, you see everything at once and that fun search is just gone.

Honestly @violay27, the hunt kinda sucked. Wasting a Friday night on a bad pick because the box lied. Streaming's algorithms actually dig up weird old stuff I'd never find in a store. It's kinda nice.
