Hey guys, asking for a family member who got into some trouble over the weekend. We really need a good criminal defense lawyer or law firm that knows the local court system well. We're feeling pretty overwhelmed with all the options on Google and half the reviews look fake. Can anyone recommend someone they've actually had a good experience with?

Just a piece of advice: make sure whoever you hire specializes ONLY in criminal law. Don't go to a general practice lawyer who does real estate and divorces on the side. You need someone who is in the criminal courts every single day and knows the local prosecutors.

That's huge that they got it dismissed before trial. Did they charge a flat fee or hourly? I always worry about lawyers dragging things out to bill more hours, especially when you're desperate.
