Paid $400 for a lawyer to review a lease, found a clause that saved me $2,000

I was about to sign a lease on an apartment in Dallas and something felt off about the pet deposit part. A real estate attorney spotted a hidden fee for carpet replacement that the landlord tried to slip in. Has anyone else had a lease review pay for itself like that?

Got a buddy who paid a lawyer to look at a prenup and found out his fiancee's dog was listed as an asset.

Honestly I used to think paying a lawyer for stuff like that was a waste but this kinda thing totally changes your mind. @grayperez that prenup story is wild, dogs are family not assets.
