Hired a lawyer off a billboard sign. Big mistake.

I needed help with a property line dispute after my neighbor put up a fence 3 feet onto my lot in Phoenix. So I called this guy whose face was on every bus stop bench. Cost me $2,500 upfront just to get him to show up late to a meeting with the surveyor. He didn't even read the docs I sent him. Anyone else get burned by one of those ad-heavy attorneys?

Paid a billboard plumber double to fix his own shoddy work.

And @bettyh84, that reminds me of my buddy who hired a billboard divorce lawyer and ended up divorced twice, somehow.

Oh man, billboard lawyers are the worst! My cousin used one for a DUI in Tucson and the guy literally forgot about his court date twice. The lawyer showed up in jeans and had to borrow a tie from the bailiff. Ended up costing triple what a normal lawyer would have charged after all the rescheduling fees and extra court costs. Its like they spend all their money on ads instead of actually knowing the law. That 2500 upfront fee you paid sounds like highway robbery, especially since he didnt even bother to prep.
