Fix for my dryer was just cleaning the vent after 3 years of thinking it was broken

I spent $180 on a repair guy who showed me the lint buildup was choking the airflow so bad it tripped the thermal fuse, and now I feel dumb for not checking YouTube first - anyone else waste money on simple fixes they could have done themselves?

Did the repair guy at least show you how to clean it so you won't need him again?

That's a really good point @laurar38 because honestly most people don't think to ask for a quick lesson while the tech is right there. My last repair guy spent like 10 minutes showing me the exact spots in my dryer vent that always clog up and how to safely reach them with a cheap brush. Saved me a hundred bucks easy the next time it started acting up. Plus he showed me the lint trap seal was getting worn out, which I never would have noticed. Small things like that make a huge difference over time.
