Debate: Is sticking to a grocery list better for freelance cash flow, or does it limit meal ideas?

Some say a strict list cuts spending and stops impulse buys, helping budgets. Others think it kills spontaneity and leads to boring food. Which side are you on?

You know, when people say a list limits meal ideas, I totally disagree. Sticking to a list is what lets me breathe easy with my budget. It's like putting up guardrails so I don't crash my finances. I notice this in lots of things, where having a plan makes room for more creativity, not less. If I go to the store without a list, I buy random stuff that ends up rotting. Then I'm stressed about money and eating the same boring things anyway.

Exactly what @wesleybutler said. My grocery list is just chicken, rice, veggies. Forces me to find new ways to cook them. Saves money and cuts down on waste big time.

Ever notice how rules often set you free?
