Why did I ever think ketchup was better for fries?
I tried mayo on a whim and now I'm hooked. It's creamier and less sugary than ketchup.

Read an article about how mayo with fries started in Belgium. They've been doing it for ages over there. Makes total sense once you try it. Ketchup just overpowers everything with that vinegary sweetness. The mayo thing is about complimenting the fry, not covering it up. That article changed my whole view on condiments.
