Unpopular opinion: Frozen vegetables taste better than fresh ones from the grocery store

I used to be team fresh all the way. But after 6 months of meal prepping on a budget, I flipped hard. Fresh broccoli at my local store turns sad and rubbery in the fridge after just 3 days. Frozen broccoli stays crisp and actually has more flavor once you roast it because it's flash-frozen at peak ripeness. Plus I save like $4 a bag every week. Anyone else find frozen corn or peas way sweeter than the limp stuff in the produce aisle?

Gotta disagree here big time. Fresh broccoli has a crunch and a real earthiness that frozen just can't replicate, no matter how you roast it. I'd rather buy smaller amounts more often than settle for watery, mushy frozen veg that tastes like it was stored in a freezer for a year.

Frozen broccoli's actually a lifesaver if you buy the right brand and don't overcook it. I steam mine straight from the bag for like 3 minutes max and it still has a decent bite, not that sad mush you're talking about. Plus the texture thing is way less noticeable if you're tossing it in a stir fry or pasta where it's not the main event. Fresh is great when you can plan ahead but for weeknight dinners when you just need something green on the plate frozen gets the job done without the guilt of watching it rot in the fridge.
