The old library's reopening let me showcase native flowers in a big way

I was asked to do the flowers for the old library's reopening last Saturday. I decided to use only native blooms from nearby farms. It was a risk because some folks prefer roses and lilies. But everyone loved the wildflower look, especially the kids who picked out their favorites. A teacher even asked if I could help with her class garden project. I'm just glad I took the chance and it paid off in such a sweet way.

Actually, marigolds are usually just garden flowers, not native ones. Using real local blooms like you did makes a bigger difference. The kids loving it shows it worked.

That's fantastic the native flowers were such a hit. My own track record with local plants is a bit more grim, mostly involving things I've managed to kill through sheer neglect. I once over-loved a pot of marigolds to death. So the fact you pulled this off and inspired a class project is really wonderful. It's always a great feeling when a creative risk works out better than you hoped. Getting the kids excited is the best kind of reward.
