Just compared two house layouts and one had a bathroom opening directly into the kitchen

I was looking at floor plans last night and one had the toilet facing the dining table through an open doorway, while the other put the bathroom behind a hallway corner, and honestly it's like some architects have never actually lived in a house, has anyone else seen a layout that made you question the designer's sanity?

Is it really that bad if the kitchen has good ventilation?

@emma_mitchell I once convinced myself a broken extractor fan was fine and now my entire apartment smells like I'm running a burnt toast factory. Good ventilation is great until you forget to use it, then you're just the person who set off every smoke alarm on the block.
