Drove out to the Salton Sea last weekend and noticed the horizon line is perfectly flat for miles
Standing there on the cracked shore I could see the curve disappear behind the mountains and it made me think how easy it is to forget the bigger picture when you are just looking at a puddle. Has anyone else gone to a place with a wide open view and had it settle an argument for you?

Stood out there myself a few years back and honestly it didn't settle anything for me. The flat line just made me think about how much we cant see from where we stand, not how big the world is. A puddle can look like an ocean if you stare at it long enough.

Sat out on the Great Salt Lake flats a few years back and it BROKE my brain. I used to argue all the time that the world was flat - not literally, but like the way people get stuck in their own little bubble. Standing out there with nothing but a perfect line for 40 miles, it really settled things for me. The horizon just kept going and going without any interruption, made me realize how small my problems really are. That kind of open view forces you to zoom out, you know? Changed my whole way of looking at things.
