Customer told me my non-stick pan was toast after 8 months, had no idea
I've been using this one non-stick frying pan from Target for like 8 months and the coating was already peeling. A regular at the restaurant saw me complain about it and said I was running it under cold water while it was still hot, which warps the pan and ruins the coating. I looked it up and yeah, he was right. Now I let it cool down on the stove for 5 minutes before washing, and the new one I bought is still holding up after 3 months. Anyone else make this dumb mistake?

Totally been there. I did the same thing with my first nonstick skillet, ran it under cold water right after cooking and the coating bubbled up in like two months. Felt so dumb when a friend told me the same thing. Now I just let it sit for a bit and it's crazy how much longer they last.

Oh man, even letting it cool can warp cheap pans if you put them on a cold counter.
