That $40 dash cam from Amazon I laughed at saved me from a $500 insurance fight

Last month someone merged into my lane on I-435 near Kansas City and claimed I was the one who swerved. I remembered that cheap dash cam I bought three years ago and almost never used. The footage showed exactly what happened, the other driver was clearly at fault. Has anyone else had a cheap piece of gear suddenly prove its worth way later?

Bet it wasn't really that serious, the other driver probably folded before the footage even came up.
