My first time using a pressure washer on my deck in Phoenix ended with a $500 repair bill because my cousin said 'just hold it closer, it'll go faster'.
He was laughing while I blasted a permanent groove into the wood, and now I'm asking if anyone has a good guide for fixing deep pressure washer gouges in treated pine.

Check if it's even worth fixing. That Phoenix sun will warp and crack that wood anyway, making a small groove the least of your problems. Save the repair money for a full replacement down the line.

Actually, what if the groove is deep enough to trap water? A little rain or even morning dew could sit in there and start rotting the wood from the inside out. That might speed things up way more than the sun alone. Might be worth a quick fill just to seal it, even if the whole deck is on borrowed time.

That cousin owes you a case of beer and a weekend of labor. Before you fill that groove, maybe stain a test patch to see if the fresh wood will even take color the same way.
