Hot take: That new 'fast set' concrete mix from the place in Lansing is a joke

Had a job in Brighton last week where the specs called for setting 20 posts with their quick stuff. Followed the bag to the letter, gave it the full 4 hours they said. Came back the next morning and three posts were leaning like they'd been in a hurricane. Had to pull them and redo it with the regular 5000 psi mix, which set rock solid. Anyone else get burned by a product that just didn't do what it promised?

Ugh, tell me about it. Honestly their whole "fast set" line is garbage. I tried it once on a small patio slab and it was still soft after six hours. You just can't beat the regular mix, it's not worth the headache.

Sounds like a bad batch more than a bad product.

And on top of that, even if it was a bad batch, that kind of thing happens way too often with the fast set stuff. I've seen three different people on here say they had the same problem with it taking forever to cure. The regular mix just stays consistent every time you buy it.
